The Ingerslev Å solar plant in Denmark has officially started producing electricity. Located in Jutland and developed by BeGreen, a subsidiary of Equinor, the 65-megawatt solar facility was built in less than a year. It includes more than 100,000 solar panels and six transformer stations.
The plant is expected to generate around 68 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually, enough to power thousands of Danish homes. All electricity produced will be sold on market terms in the western Denmark power zone through Danske Commodities.
This marks the first BeGreen project to go live since Equinor acquired the company in 2023. It also represents a key step in Equinor’s broader plan to expand its onshore renewable energy portfolio, which already includes 1.2 gigawatts of capacity across Europe and the Americas.
The project highlights Equinor’s commitment to profitable, scalable renewable energy development while supporting Denmark’s national goal of reaching 100% renewable electricity by 2030.
