Jaguar Land Rover Shows Cyberattacks Mean (Bad) Business

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) experienced a substantial cyberattack that forced a prolonged shutdown of its manufacturing operations, causing massive financial losses and operational disruption. The company initially claimed no customer data was stolen, but later retracted that assertion as the scale of the breach became clearer. Estimates suggest JLR lost hundreds of millions of dollars per week, with the total damage potentially ranging between $1.7 billion and $2.4 billion. The disruption extended well beyond IT systems—factory lines were idled, supply chains were impacted, and normal business processes ground to a halt.
